I discovered that tivo can be hooked up to my home network for free (used to be a pay service a while back I believe). It lets me listen to my pc's music and look at pictures through the tv which is pretty neat. The cool feature, though, is that I can transfer stuff I recorded on it into my pc! Looks like it's time for me to pick up a DVD burning now .

Anyways, my question to you. What software are you using to burn DVD's with? Is it the one that came with the burner or some other better program?

I have been using Nero 6, so far, it has been the best DVD burning software I have seen. I can Make a copy of it for you....

if yor are making deriect copies of movies....DVD Decrypter, DVD shrink 3.2 are food programs to have also. DVD shrink works along with Nero 6 to burn the movie....

You won't need DVD shrink with the Dual layer DVD burner though. I will find the link for the decryptor, to disable the copyright on "production" disks.

Nero was the software that came with it, so looks like I'll be keeping it. I was messing with it yesterday by trying to make a quick movie with some short videos I have (to save time) on the pc. I home DVD player plays it fine, my portable doesn't play them at all . This is using a verbatim DVD-R disc.

Looks like I need to start shopping around to find out what works with both DVD players that I have. I know that the ones you use newguy work (memorex dvd+r). Kinda crapy that I have 50 of these disc and they won't work with my portable setup. Oh well.

i thought for DL u had to buy DL DVD or is there no diff.?

i USE CLONE DVD AND ANY DVD. THEY WORK GREAT.

For a dual layer dvd burner, you can use either dual layer or single layer disc, you choice.
