AJ is a little pussy barret hits him and he does nothing about it until a day later he starts talking shit to him at the plate, and then he mocks zambrano....bad idea to mess with that guy, I wish he would beat AJ's ass too. He did the right thing, walk away, now Barrett is going to be suspended and fined, AJ most likely will not, I would have done the same thing if I were in his position. I like my money...

Why get suspended and hurt the entire team. That sounds like a cubs attitude to me. Besides, he didn't have to do anything. Podsednik came right out and took Barret to the ground. We saw how tough he was when not throwing a surprise hit. And what is this about the first baseman going to the hospital with possible broken ribs?? Yeah.... I think it is clear who won the fight Czech. Give it up man.... the cubs just need to get used to the sox pushing them around.

NICELY SAID!, the cubs are just jealous that the Sox win and they can't do it. If you can't see that the Sox won that fight you have some serious issues. A couple friends of mine are die-hard Cubs fans, they were mad when the Sox won the world series. I talked to them and they even said that it was clear the Sox won the game. Like FRJ said, why fight back and hurt the whole team and have to pay yourself. Even though A.J. is in just about every contraversial (SP?) play/action that happens on the field, he is a valuable player to the team. They may not have won the world series if it weren't for A.J.

What you get when you start something you cant finish

Ever think that it is his first season in the ML? He is a rookie and needs more practice. He is a great fielder but he can use a little more batting practice. But what about Barrett or the other cubs catcher I don't remember, his average was like .056 or something like that.

How in the HE!! is that disrespect? He may have slapped the base a little cocky but I could see a Cub doing the samething. ANd if the Cubs aren't secure enough about their skills as baseball players they have to resort to hitting the other team? Talk about disrespect and bad sportsmanship.

The thing is that it's just sad that the cub fans need to resort to the "plate smack" as bad sportsmanship to make Barret taking a swing seem less wrong. The whole thing is rediculous. AJ plowed Barret because he was blocking the plate. He was not wrong in any way by doing so. He smacked the plate, big deal. I can see almost anyone doing the same thing given the rivalry. The fact that he took a step foreward before starting to head to his bench should not have been enough for Barret to grab him. If someone grabbed me I would have said something too, and I'm sure AJ did. Barret took a swing, that didn't phase AJ, and AJ walked away. That is it..... there is no "oh well he shouldn't have hit the plate". That is BS..... It doesn't matter though. When the cubs make up the 12 or so full games they are behind the sox they can talk again.... Until then we should have silence for a few years. To bad they will never shut up....

Did you even watch the game? It sounds to me like you are just saying what all of the big headed Cub's fans say, they just try to pass the blame on to the other team and their team is the best and they don't start anything, they are the best nothing to it. I can't stand people like that. Even if you did watch the game I think you need to watch a little closer, A.J. was reaching for his helmet if he was going to be going for Barret don't you think he would have his hand in a fist or some kind of stupid look on his face. All he did was reach down and Barrett was going to go after him for knocking him down. If he didn't want to get hit he should have gotten out of the way. Niether player did anything wrong, it was a clean play, Barrett just over reacted.
