first real RC was a 3-wheeler in 1985. It took a 7.2 volt stick pack (1100's were the best out there) and it was pretty fast and popped wheelies. It must of been a kyosho or something, not sure.
Over all the years, not including the money I've made back from selling used RC items, I prolly have 8-10K in everything EDIT: I'm 28

I'll be 33 this year in may. I got my first RC in 1985 for xmas from my dad. It was a Tamiya Blackfoot. I had it for awhile then broke it and was out of the hobby until late summer last year. When I picked up a used RC10GT for my son and I.

Well I have been in to this for a while off and on.
I am 39 now and was out of it for 11-12 years and now back into it. My daughter was born and that had to come first. So I would say I was 26-27 when I got into it and had a Tamiya ride with the beetle body. Then I got into the RC10T and the RC10. Still have the 10T I wanna sell. Basically ti is the same as the t3 but the chassis is the orgiginal gold tub sandblasted to natural alum color. For some who may remember I was always at Radio Active Raceway every weekend and even did the thing for Downers Grove fest and was sponsored along with the whol lot of us getting in the newpaper. If your not breakin parts your not going fast enough-Biodragen NTC3 RTR assoc .15 NTC3 OS .18 Losi 8T, JR8611a ST servo, Futaba 9350 Th\Brk Servo, RB-C6BB Motor and Novarossi 528XR. |

I'd like to think I started when I got my first tyco bandit and that was when I was 6. I got my first "real" R/C, a rustler, when I was 13.

I am 18 and have been involved in the hobby for about 3 or 4 years. My first RC that was all mine was a FT RC10GT this past summer. I then moved to buggy and quickly to my current Revo. I probably have about $2k into the easy. With the price new of the Revo and everything done to it I think I am already at about $1k. I got a 4-tec drifter somewhere in there...

Update: I'm cough*46*cough but since getting into RC 16 months ago I have lowered my "true age" number to about 20. Playing with toys again makes me feel like a kid. Thanks to all of you guys for putting up with my infantile (sorry for the big, adult words Roc) behavior in my posts. You guys are the hobby! And without fun people to hang out with and enjoy the activity, it is a boring "toy" that would eventually gather dust on the shelf. It's the community of RC that will keep me interested and participating for many years to come! Thanks for being a cool bunch of people.
