what did you think of the rc expo - 10-18-2004, 07:30 AM

to all that went to the rc expo, this past weekend, what did you think of it?

I thought it was ok, pretty much the same as last year. The 2 things that interest me are helicopters and the scale electric boats. These are things that i will be looking into in the future.

It was my first time to iHobbyExpo I took my older boy with me and we had a good time. I can tell most of the people concentrated in the land stuff. 2nd would be air and 3rd would be water.

Did you look at the Warhead? I think it looks pretty nice. I feel like eveybody is going to the Savage design to make their truck stronger.

What were the new products besides some new wheels from HPI and new Proline 40 series dish wheels?

Proline has new wheels for the savage coming out that has a buggy wheel nut to keep the wheels on. It also comes with beefy hubs, they looked pretty strong. But just like alot of other stuff on display, its coming out soon but their not sure of the price.

I did see the Warhead on display. My thinking to that is if I wanted a savage, I'd buy one. Somebody also had an electric version of the savage which I heard will be reviewed in magazines soon.

I'm surprised at all the 1/18 scale trucks that are coming out. The duratrax truck looked like it was pretty quick. Associated had one they were driving around that looked real nice and came with some nice features like oil shocks, battery pack and charger. X-ray, I guess will come out with one too. But theirs was on display under a black cloth, what was the point of that?

I bought 4 3000 nimh packs from some asian dudes for 60 bucks. The duratrax truck looked bad ass.

Are they stick packs or side by side? Do the cells have any kind of brand?

Bigdangerous, do you have any quality GP, Sanyo, or panasonic cells?

Have you ever used a good pack like a GP3300 pack? What a difference they make. It's like putting a turbo chrger on your RC.
