The last race we had about 86 entries, say half buggy the other half split between mt/truggy. This should be bigger since it the FIRST RACE AT THE NEW PLACE

Awesome... so my numbers weren't too far off. I don't know. I would like to finish top half as a goal for my first race. If it doesn't happen it doesn't happen. I will try to get my race prep done to the truck and just run as many laps as I can for practice...

freeride my advice for you is once your comfortable with the truck in practice put it away untill the qualifying starts. The only time i drive my truck is when i think i need to adjust something which isnt to often. Most of the time im sitting in the pits trying to figure out whats a faster line for myself. Dont try and go as fast as possible in practice either. Just take it really slow and get everything figured out for your lines, setups, line yourself up for jumps, ect.

Same thing goes for qualifying. You can push the truck more in qualifying but i still always try and take it a little bit easy in qualifying. Its just you trying to make good lap times instead of actually racing somebody. The mains is were you want to go all out and just try to drive away from people. That doesnt mean keep it WOT all the time but thats were you need to be the fastest is actually racing against other people. Qualifying is just to get lap times but the mains are were you actually race the other people. And remember if somebody is faster then you just let them pass you. Dont try to race them because you dont want to accidently take them out.

Just drive slow but consistant and focus on not crashing and you should be able to get a high placing and a good main position.

there is no certain spot, you just go wide and let them pass when they get up to you

In the heats, your running against the clock
In the Mains, your running against others.

I generally try to let people pass on corners. I go wide and most people know I'm going wide to let them go by.

i try really hard to good in the 1st qual. traction is usually better then. if you can get a solid run in with no mistakes, its really hard for others to come back later. if you place good, you can relax a little and try to be more aggressive in the next 2, might do better, might not.

im a little diff than ryan in the main. thats where i become conservative. getting marshaled in a race makes it really hard to make up that ground if the person your chasing didnt mes up.

if i get settled i can reel in some one, but playing it safe is better for "me"

for your first race, in the quals take it easy, take no risks. slower is faster.

its all about the prep for the mains, tighten all your screws, shoe goo is your best friend, put it on anything you think can come loose in a 30 min race shock pins any screws or anything else. check your clutch and clutch bearings all that stuff and u should be good to go
