heres what i think those girls are probaly the grand daughters of the rich old men that actully build those planes... For the sheer fact that they comsume tons of time and lots and lots of money!!!

An acquaintance in the Fox Valley Aero club has 17 planes and a 2 car garage in his backyard just for the hobby.

Come out to Naperville on a Sunday afternoon and watch them fly. Some of these guys are flying pretty large planes and flying aerobatics. You can see them pretty clearly at 1000'.
It's fun stuff. Just really expensive when it goes wrong. And unlike surface RC, you have to be permitted and insured to fly model planes. You join the national organization that handles model airplanes and you get liability coverage through them.

To get a full dosage of RC flight go to the AMA headquarters in Muncie Indiana. Huge air field, they have RC, Freeflight,control line and helicopters. Plus a museum detailing the history of Model Aviation.
