There are a few packages out there which consist of just a cam, headers (long tubes most likely, though they don't specify), and a cat-back that most likely eliminates the bypass valve for better flow. 650hp at the crank isn't hard when the cylinder heads flow as much as they do. The heads flow about 370cfm on the INTAKE and close to 250cfm on the exhaust. The cam spec is 211/230 duration @ .050" lift with .591"/.591" lift. Don't know the LSA off the top of my head. The heads themselves have a 12* intake port. This engine is amazing with the amount of design work in it. No cam phasing, no boost, no DOHC setup. Just an insane pushrod motor with perfect geometry. LG motor sports got 540rwhp with cam/headers/air filter and no tuning at all, stock ECM. I imagine that there is a bit of power left with the tune. I haven't looked up any new stuff from LG motorsports., thisi is an old post. http://forums.corvetteforum.com/show...6&forum_id=100 Little Toys: Hyper One Seven | Inferno GT | Jammin X1cr | Jammin CRT Pro | 1989 Batmobile Replica |

That make more sense. Thanks for clearing it up.
Gotta love the added displacement the LS7 brings to the table huh? In some ways wish Ford had followed GM's path of super-fine tuning the venerable small block. Chrysler did with the 6.1L & 6.4L motors but a 7L should be made in my opinion. It's also too bad Chrysler is so anal about letting ANYBODY tweak their computers! We could have a killer musclecar renaisance on our hands! I think Chrysler will relent. Afterall, as much as we love the halo from the stock cars. Its what we can do to the stock cars that we remember years down the line. Anytime I talk to someone who was into muscle cars in the 50s, 60s, and early 70s all they talk about when you bring a car up is how they bought one and then what happened when they modded it.
I think the LS7 is an amazing engine for making 505hp and 30mpg which lets it slide under the gas guzzler tax. GM stuck a baby cam in it, so I can imagine a much larger duration camshaft making some serious power. I imagine if they go all out with a cam for a race engine and don't concern themselves with durability the LS7 may possibly begin to rival GM's 2.2 small block NASCAR motors. i have never been a fan of v8's. They are overkill, with a ton of wasted power unless you go to the strip, whats the point in having a V8 as a daily go-getter?
I'll take this engine anyday over a POS V8, however thats JMO......... and yes, It will hang in a short distance with a musclecar, listen to those secondary cams kick in!!!! for a 4 cyl its sick, you cant argue that ![]() http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3NaIY...elated&search= |

I would never build up a front wheel drive car. Sure, I am partial to F-bodies and Mustangs...etc.. But I'm more of a fan of RWD or AWD cars in general. All that power, and what happens when you get on the gas? You take weight off the front wheels, the driven wheels.
In unlimited racing catagories people don't build FWD vehicles, they do AWD or RWD. Little Toys: Hyper One Seven | Inferno GT | Jammin X1cr | Jammin CRT Pro | 1989 Batmobile Replica |

LS7 is what I would go with. mild cam, long tube headers, dumped true duals, t400 tranny, 4000 stall, 9" rearend.. all in my Camaro I'd be happy. I'd probably still drive it in the snow too just as I do now.. lol. Actually an LSx engine in just about anything RWD would be cool with me. lol!
I'd never even buy a FWD and wouldn't even want an AWD car. 1:1.. 01 Z28 Camaro A4 Sure.. its stock. 1:8's.. K3, Inferno GT, and a straight line beater car 1:18.. RC18t Mamba and 3s lipo |
