No. A maxx has a transmission which is more like direct drive (or something, someone help me out).
If you have ever taken a front or rear diff out of your maxx then you know what a diff is. It distributes power to the wheel with the least traction. Well now imagine that diff in your transmission distributing power to the front or rear wheels instead of being on the back and sending power to the right or left tire. sorry hard to explain.

a center diff acts just like a regular diff, if you hold the rear wheels and hit the gas the front will spin, go try that with your maxx, when you come back in something is going to be hutring...

traxxas thrasher, in a buggy or truggy, yes, the center diff has a gear attached directly to it and is only 1 speed.
A stock tmaxx or revo has a multi-speed tranny, no center diff. What people have found out though, is that there is enough room in the revo tranny housing (after revesed has been removed) to stick a modded up diff in there. Is in essence, a 2 speed center diff ."If you cook scallops in a non-stick pan, then they won't stick. That's why they call it NON F@#*$&%G STICK!!!" - Im watching YOU!- roc |
