I run half bodies. Or I was running a half body... I don't care for SUV bodies. Makes it to hard to get at the engine/starter/fuel tank.
Using the cold rolled steel bar allows the truck to slide instead of dig in like the RCS cage that I had... and broke: I band-aided that cage with the same type of bar that you see on there now. I was surprised how well it held up. I ran it like this for about 3 gallons of abuse: On a wreck, be it a roll over or end over end, the steel bar just glances off the ground and slides. This dissipates a lot of the impact. I also allowed enough of an angle near the rear tower so it can bend about 3/4 of an inch forward before it hits my tower. Should work out ok... I hope. Getting those towers again from skip will be a PITA as he only has them occasionally. I hate aluminum towers, or I'd try nova's. |
