My Sirio is acting up right now.

r0nd3L, you need to turn the HSN counter clockwise about 1/2 turn and try it again. (yes a full 1/2 turn)

Not sure BF. It's just acting up and I can't tune it.

Hey Newguy, I just read your post at the very top of this page (I missed half the posts somehow) and you are dead on in the tuning dept. I taught you well grasshoppa! j/k

Thank you Masta..... LOL

Rond3l, If your temps are in the 260 range with the body off, and over 300 with the body on, FIRST richen the mixture. After that, I'd make a decent size air hole in the front windshield, directly in front of the motor. Also, cut out the opening arounf the engine a little more. This will allow more air to circulate around your engine, helping keep the temps down.

As for changing the head. FIRST get the tune right.... (Good smoke, good power, steady temps) THEN you can change the head. If you change to a better cooling head without getting the engine running right first, you can falsly be fooled into believing that your engine is getting enough oil. Make sure you get the tune right before you change the head.

Good luck.

On my first 2.5 I swaped the stock head for a CNR head. It dropped my temps quite a bit from where they were (like 50 degrees, it seemed). My motor was toast after 2 gallons, the piston/sleeve blew chunks. I didn't really touch the needles at all from the time I bought it to the end of the 2 gallons. It was running lean the entire time. You should be able to get good temps (260-290 (IMO) with the stock head. I had a 2.5 last 5 good, fast gallons with those temps. Then it blew chunks

that truck looks nice rond3l. Tuning is an art on some of these motors, I was always cranking on my 2.5 from full tank to empty tank and only sometimes found a happy medium. Installed the wasp .21 and really never touched the needles again, just start and GLH.
