The spy is going into my Mini-T with just a 280 size airplane motor in it and cheap radio gear in it to keep around and mess with when I want to do wheelies.. lol.

Remember that you will need a servo and a rx also if you do that.

Thanks man.. Ita a Trinity Monster Termination motor. Its a good motor but is all top end and you have to gear it with a very small pinion to let the motor spool up into its powerband. Its been good to me and has tons of power and top speed although I did have problems with the brushes hanging up in the brush hoods initially. I lightly sanded the brushes down a little and no problems since. I'm going with something less brutal for the mini-t just a $12 long can high torque 280 sized airplane motor its a good mtor for long runtimes and tons of low end torque and would probably take 50 runs before the brushes wore out.

BL is in the RC18t!! Also I thought the Mini-t with the mamba was nuts.. its even better in the RC18t because it can put the power down reliably and handle like its on rails. I'm finally very happy with the RC18t. really imo the biggest problems are the horrid steering of the thing and all the chassis flex. I hope its doesn't rain tomorow because I'm going to setup the mamba on the highest power output and give it a whirl.

Something else I got to brag about that I got today.. the Castle link USB for the mamba. Man I have to tell everyone with a Mamba to get the castle link! I updated the software on the Mamba to the latest 1.03 Beta version and found a whole bunch of changes for the BL. you can dissable the reverse, change the reverse power %, Brake power % (the latest software version has sone stupid powerfull brakes too!), Punch control (which is like traction control), Drag brake, Start Power, Motor timing, Cutoff voltage, and finally throttle and brake curve adjustment. Future updates will have even more adjustments too. well worth the $20 for the castle link.

so yeah here is the last pic of my RC18 because I'm pretty much done modding and setting this up.

hmm... good question on the cost of it. I had a lot of stuff already laying around but here it goes.

stuff I paid for.

$130 for the FT RC18kit
$20 for the front CVD's
$18 for the top plate
$18 for the drag link and 1/10 scale Hexes
$45 for 2 IB 1200 packs from CBP
$21 for the Castle Link Controller programing setup

Other stuff I already had or got as a present.
$110 for the Mamba (christmas present)
$30 for the foams (I had those laying around)
$25 for the Hitec HS56hb servo (Was using it in my Mini-t)
$45 for the Novak XXl (I've had this forever its late 90's vintage lol)
??? radio is a JR XR3i which is late 90's again.

then the time I put in to install the stuff and fab up the battery holder on the motor side too.

Totaled up its around $500 for all the partsl. Luckily I only spent around $250 because I already had some stuff laying around and got lucky with the BL for christmas. I'd still be running my Novak spy and Trinity motor if I had not gotten the BL.

I'm not 100% sure what I'm going to do with the leftover electronics. I'll probably put them into my mini-t for now to keep that running.

Ohh and with the BL in there and the betteries split the way I have them the chassis is just about perfectly balanced left to right. If I have the time on monday I'll check the corner weights on the digital scale at my work just because I'm curious.

well if your serious about mini racing at leisure $500 aint that bad. Of course there is no lipo's or lipo charger included in that price.
