I think the smoking ban is alot bigger than the smokers think. This by far is not a small thing, its huge. I am so freaking happy. I have a few family members and and friends that smoke, maybe this will help them quit that crap and live a healthier life.

Don't be so naive, this is about personal freedoms. I am a nonsmoker but I still think it is wrong. I think smoking or non should be a choice of the restaurant.

I see all these people worried about the wrong things. If that is what someone wants to do with their lungs then I say let them.

Being an American is supposed to be about freedom and choice but there are too many people like you who are so controlling they think they need to control what others do as well. In fact there are so many that they are allowing millions of small changes to be made every day, and are slowly but surely taking away our freedoms.

The easiest way to stop being bothered by someone smoking is to move, lest you forget that this is YOUR problem not theirs.

I dont agree on the ban for the simple fact that were a free country and should be allowed to do as we please. This includes smoking weed or whatever. It should be your choice and yours alone. I do however think there needs to be designated smoking area's that are sectioned off to completly seperate smokers from non. Its like in that one episode of king of the hill when the entire family starts smoking. Hank and Peggy to the smoky's for dinner and the smoking section is a back room blocked off with a door and walls from the non smokers. At least this way if you dont want to deal with smokers then your completly in the free from it.

As a smoker I respect non smokers and the fact that they think it stinks and it kills their lungs as well...

Its about respect, not freedom.

I try not to smoke around non smokers, period....

If I smoke, I let myself air out a bit before having a conversation...

Wash your hands when your done smoking if possible, alot of the smokey smell is on your hands...

Never smoke in cars or closed areas when there are non smokers present...

There are certain things you can do to respect non smokers. Treat others how you would want to be treated.

You share the same freedoms as everyone else. just because you don't smoke, doesn't mean that someone elses freedom has to suffer.

I can completely see banning smoking within a set distance from hospitals or other health care facilities. I would agree with leaving it up to the individual restaurants and bars, as to if they want to allow smoking.

Just as I have the right, and the ability to choose not to go to a restaurant/bar that won't allow smoking, non-smokers have the right and ability to not go to places that allow smoking.

Too much of this country is bowing to political correctness, and it is slowly tearing apart everything this country was founded on.
