Smokers pay lots and lots of taxes for their habit. Who do you think will start paying all the lost revenue if everyone were to quit? YOU non-smokers are!!!!!!

Most public places already don't allow smoking anyway. Restaurants that do have smoking usually have it in a very small section these days, usually by the bar. The biggest change that everyone will see is in the bars and clubs. If I'm gonna kill my liver boozing it, I should be allowed to kill my lungs too!

Places like texas and california can get away with laws like this because the weather is nice enough to have outdoor patios for the smokers all year round.

All you non-smokers keep on bitching, but you better shut your mouths when the governements steps up to the next level of control (that will affect you) or raises taxes to cope with lost cigarrette revenue...

Non smokers have as much freedom as the smokers, more in IMO. Smokers don't impede on non-smokers, with the excpetion of bars. All restaurants have non-smoking available. Planes are smoke free. Almost all public buildings are already smoke free, even before this ban. How are the smokers impeding on the non-smokers freedom? If you're in a bar getting all messed up, shouldn't be complain about smoke anyway, you are way more likely to hurt someone or yourself on the way home than getting prollonged problems with you lungs from a few hours of smoke breathing.

Even after I had quite for a year and sat in non-smoking areas, I could never smell smoke from the smoking area. Those that say they can are full of it! I can smell it when walking by, but that's about it.

I think most arguements smokers like to throw are copouts just for the sake of starting an arguement and hold no value whatsoever.

how does it impede on my freedoms? well if i can smell smoke from your cigarette and i dont want to then you are impedeing on my freedoms. Im not all gung ho ban smoking, but im just telling u how its seen in the eyes of most who want it banned and what it all boils down to is that it has an effect on those around you. Sure there are some bitchy fags out there that may smell a hint of it and freak out but the squeaky wheel gets the oil u know?

Same goes for everything else too doesn't it? If I see a mother breast feeding and it bothers me, it's impeding my freedoms not to have to see that.

If someone passes bad gas in the elevator or has extreme bo and I don't want to smell it, it impedes my freedoms.

You can say turn your head the other direction or take the stairs or whatever. Same can be said about the smokers too. Don't stand next to them.

its not though as you can walk away from a fart or BO and still be in the building oh and not to mention it wont be degratory to your health. However smoking u really do have to go pretty far away in a room to not smell it and it kills you, they really arent the same
