Thank God you plan on both! The headsets only at Nitrofarm suck big time! As a racer you lose that sense of connectedness with your vehicle and as a marshall you have no idea what's going on. And let's not talk about how the headsets and radios get in the way of properly marshalling-if I can't hear your motor whine I may not marshall you!
It seriously detracts from the racing experience by only having the FM headphones. However, by having both one could listen to what's going on at a reasonable volume while in the pits without blasting the tracks' neighbors. Good call IMO. |

That is one of the problems, espsecially with a headphones like that. Of course, this is not as much of a problem when you have an experienced announcer like John that also keeps an eye out for danger and announces it. The other problem is hearing your pit guy call you in. The cheaper walkman-type headphones that Nitrofarm uses are good because its a little easier to wear one on your ear, and the other off. There was even a couple of times when the announcer would hear a pit guy calling his driver in and announce it.
