No you may not have trouble, but you will on the busiest day when there are 34 people try to get your channel. On a normal week night you should not have much trouble at all. That i snot saying you may not have to wait for it to free up, but it wont be as busy

George,
Since you quoted me to start your post, I am obliged to reply. You are entitled to disagree with I said, but I am entitled to say what I THINK, which is also what I FELT; shellshocked and turned off about the level of chaos on the track, and the behavior of some of the people driving there that day. Now, having said that, I agree with you and every other member who has repeatedly likened Monday to Black Friday, the situation that day was a freak thing. I never ripped on Bernie, who I had Gabe introduce me to that day. I complimented Bernie on his facility and told him I would return with interest. I never ripped on the track. I"VE NEVER DRIVEN the track. I made a choice to not run that day because we (as track beginners) felt we would not enjoy it. I think (an opinion) that most people realize the time and effort that went into Bernie getting the new facilty built and operating. It was under the microscope ever since it was announced. Updates and photos, along with questions and comments, were posted on many boards. I too feel it is unfair for anyone to maliciously attack the man or the facility. But for anyone who had bad experiences to post them is not an attack. It is a report. It reflects how that individual felt that day. If they feel strongly enough to say they are never going back, that is their business. If other people want to prejudge the place, without ever going to see it for themselves, they are going to miss out. Their Loss. People are entitled to post here. Moderators are empowered to remove slanderous or offensive statements. This thread was all about positive things that happened since Monday. The news provided by those their last night is great news!!!! I am excited to hear that our next visit to the Raceway will be smooth and enjoyable. |

DAve
By no means was this attack on you, just the general posting by people. But in your post you said I am sure it left people turned off. Meaning you are grouping people together, in the above post you say I. That is fine to speak for yourself but not for others. I dont know maybe its how I interprete the words turned off. If I am turned off by something I am never doing it again, so you must have a different meaning because you state you will return. Again I am not saying you or anyone has ripped on Bernie himself. Its just there is like 5 threads on these boards about Leisure hours. Posts telling them they should do this, or that, add this, fix this. Most of it comming from people that have never been there or been there once. You notice the regulars, and peopel that help construct it have not said anything negative, being because we understand how it works, and also realize its a work in progress. You go to alot of the other boards, the grid mainly there is no bad things being said about LH. Maybe because they are more seasoned racers there and understand how things work a the track. verses here where we have alot of young people and newbs to racing. I also (my opinion) dont like the negative comments about a place that is not finished, wait to give your opinion when it is completely done. Because by someone saying they dont like something now, it may turn someone off, and the prob may be fixed the next day or so. So in closing, my above post and prior post was no attack on one person, it just seems more negative posts about LH have been made than positive ones. Thats a shame in my opinion, and yes I am entitled to my opinion just as you are. But by me stating my opinions I am not bashing a person or a facility, unlike some of the recent posts made on the threads about LH. So lets enjoy the place and see everyone out there racing and enjoying the track.... |

when i was starting out... i had 1 ch to work with.... it was fine for where i was racing, but i knew someday that id be going to a bigger race/track and might be SOL.... sooo i found a way and bought a xs3 used to help out. LH was the first time i ever had to change a freq, and some one was hoggin it. rtr guys... dont get pissy when someone is on your ch... rtr generally isnt made with the intentions of going to a pratice night with 85-100 people...rtr was meant for bashing ( lol im gonna get bashed for that )... so it is a growing pain. if you wanna step up and compete then your gonna need the right equip and radio gear is part of it. im not telling you to go buy a m11 and a spektrum.... but a nice synth xs3 for a cool hundo will help. also when signing up, id look thru the sing up sheet for your freq, if everyone done that, then you could adjust before your day started.
racing is EXPENSIVE!!! every form of it is.... |

Having more than a couple extra sets of crstals helps too. If someone hogs a clip for mor than 15min or 2 tanks than its time to talk to the person in charge(and/or change to a different crystal), you payed to play too but you have to have a backup plan aswell.......more crystals or spektrum system to avoid it all together.

We also have to keep in mind, that the comments made in this and other forums has led to the rule changes Bernie and staff put into effect Wednesday. Marshalling and people tying up channels for 30+ minutes at a time were problems at the old track as well. On Race days, these problems were not as noticable, because everyone there knew the rules. On practice only days, it got out of hand. The new rules are a welcome addition. I know on the busier days, it will still be a little hectic, but having these rules in place will help remedy that.

i would agree the new rules worked great last night. there was about 20 people there last night, and maybe at the most 10 cars on the track at one time. 2-3 marshalls on the track with 10 cars was just fine.
