Byron Gen 2 - 03-11-2008, 08:36 PM

I have ran 1 and 1/4 gallons of the gen 2 and have come to the conclusion that I hate it. I have ran the "gen 1" 30% for over a year with no problems what so ever. several others of the locals that have had to make the switch didnt get along with it eighter. and some others love it. I seen 2 engines from 2 diff. owners that were brand new and only ran on the "gen 2" and with in 2 gallons both of them lost all pinch and the pistons were like sandpaper and the bearings were gritty as well one of the bearings was totaly blown apart. I am running a brand new picco p7r on the gen 2 and have 1 1/4 gallons on it and the pinch is next to nothing already I had the same exact engine I ran last year on the "gen 1" that had 7 gallons on it before it went south (same day I went to a smaller clucth bell so I over reved it I am sure) but at the 7 gallon mark it had more pinch then this one at the 1 1/4 gallons! call me a fool but it dont take a rocket scientist to figure that out.

whats your thoughts on it?

My friend has run that on his New VG, almost a gallon of it. Yet to see what it does later...

Suppose they were over-leaning it because the fuel runs cooler? Even when slightly fat it seems to make good power. Thats just my opinion, or observation. It is said you will run fat when making the switch and the temps are cooler...perhaps they engines were ran a bit lean un-intentionally?

there isnt a reason a fuel should ruin an engine...seeing as how its 11% oil and offers super good protection.

LSP lots of Khz, Werks .28 8 port.

Revo 2.5, TRX 3.3 Engine, Center Diff. Fast and Turns on a dime.
