2.5R Engine Problems - 05-08-2007, 09:24 PM

I have a T-Maxx with a 2.5R motor and am having a hard time keeping it running. I have noticed that there is fuel getting in the pressure line. I know this is not good. What could be the cause?

Thanks

your running it too rich if you are getting fuel in the pressure line, im assuming it is discolored fuel and not fresh fuel.

what is happening is there is too much fuel and it is going into the pipe and into the fuel line.

lean it out, problem solved

FYI the 2.5, and 3.3 like to run at about 270

Can a too rich setting on either needle cause this? Is one needle more likely to do this over the other?

you are trying to make more work for your self.

go back to factory setting, HSN 4 turns out and LSN flush

any time you have a tunning issue and get lost jsut go back to factory you wont harm the engine buy doing this as you are starting with a rich setting then moving lean instead of lean then to rich.

anyone who know anything about nitro engines will suggest the same thiing

That is close to where I currently have it set at. My current setting is 3.75 turns out on the HSN and flush on the LSN. I will lean it from there and see if I still have the problem.

To answer your question, yes, the High Speed needle will cause an overrich condition worse/faster than a rich LSN, unless all you ever do is idle around or run at less than 1/4 throttle.

I would just richen it excessivly so it won't clear out, get it warm and then start tuning.

That method has never failed me and I do it on every race day on the bench before I even run a few practice laps.
