My engine stops after I take off the glow starter, it will idle and rev fine until I take off the glow starter, then it dies.

glow plug is probably burned out. try a new plug.

false, i just put in a new plug, still had the same problem

stupid question, but are the head screws tight

Try taking off the glo ignitro at a low rev.
If that doesnt work try leaning out your engine, maybe its running to rich...

or try putting in a hotter plug

if the plug isnt dead then its rich, too much fuel going in at once and it is just soaking the element lean her out
