High Pitched idle noise out of an OS 30VG - 04-08-2007, 05:56 PM

After my OS 30 gets going and I let off the throttle, the idle speed goes way up and it makes a whe whe whe whe noise instead of an idle. Sometimes it eventually does idle, but it usually just stays in its whiny state. I have figured out that it is not a HS problem and am gonna take off the carb and clean it tonight, but if anyone has ever had a problem like this and knows how to fix it, tell me because this has been a problem of mine for some time. If need be I will post a video tomorrow of the problem and what it sounds like.

Low speed. Richen until it goes away or stays high for like .5 seconds.

ok, i guess I am just not used to the ammount of smoke it is putting out, and the fact that it was not over 170 degrees during my 15 min run. I guess I will try that tomorrow.

do a pinch test to be sure. do a high speed run, come in and pinch the fuel line. If too lean on low speed motor will die in a sec or two.
