Sportwerks .21 or Ofna hper .21 8 port - 02-07-2007, 12:07 PM

Which engine between these two do you think is better. I will have both and am not sure which one will be better in my mayhem buggy.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks

Thanks for the replys. I will probably try them both out and see what happens. I have never ran the ofna before and really like my sportwerks .26 so I was leaning toward putting the sportwerks in.

The sportwerks is a better "All around" engine. It has a smoother throttle band, and is a little easier to control.

The Hyper 8 is a decent motor, but doesn't have as smooth of transition. I belive the Hyper has a little more top end, because of the higher RPM's, but is a little harder to control smoothly on the low end.

The ease of control coming out of a turn, will allow you to carry a faster pace through the whole track. The Hyer will only benefit on the long straights.

From what I've seen it was the opposite newguy...the sportwerks had more low end and still great top. The hyper was softer on the low and hit pretty hard mid-top.

I think it depends on the plug and fuel your using not to mention the way they are tuned.

I think the carb is more consistant on the SW motor, some of the hyper8 carbs can be finicky and have you chasing a tune.

That is pretty much what I meant, you just said it better.... The Sportwerks has more low end, which gives a more linear feel through the throttle band. The Hyper lacks on low end, then suddenly hits.
