hey does anyone on here know how to or rebuild elec motors? I have a great motor but I think it's time to be cut or something maybe new bearings. I have a reedy mr. b's that is a 15 turn triple but it is faster than most 10 turns out there. how much would you charge me to do mine?

I know how, I have a comm lathe and stuff. I 've rebuilt a few good motors to better then new. Not real good at race tuning though.

Might want to contact this guy, It sounds like he has a better knowledge of race tuning.

don't actually race just bash. This motor is super fast and I just wanted to get it turned I think. Not really sure what it needs. Still is fast just making some noise. Might be losing a little umph. I just replaced the brushes for about the 10th time and it's never been cut.

It sounds like ya just need to get the comm cut and another set of brushes and she'll be as good as new, I just can't think who has a comm cutter though? I'll ask my bud from work, he used to be into elec carpet big time, i'll let ya know!

try and contact Chicagokenji I know he used to be into on-road big time or still is and might have a lathe, also as was stated get your self a new set of Brushes and springs, and depending on if its a bearing or bushing motor take a look at them and see if they need replacing as well.

thanks guys it is a bearing motor. It's like 10 years old but you know what they say...... This thing smokes my reedy kr 10t double thats new. lol

WHAT really That's odd I wonder why? Did ya ever clean the comm with one of those comm sticks?

no I just broke it in and drove it. Man I really can't explain this motor. It is just insane. I found on ta website where 10 years ago this thing was 75 bux. I can't find anymore either. I look on the bay everyday lol. 1 time I almost sold thank god the guy passed. It will flip my stampede over at even the slightest blip of the throttle.

I have mine done at Al's for 5 bucks. They do a great job.
