serious tuning help..... - 08-17-2006, 11:16 AM

ok i need some serious tuning help. my buggy ran great untill i switched fuel and know i switched back to the original odonells......and it runs like shit.

If I turn a needle it doesnt change the engine at all. the needles have to be off like crazy.

I had it pig rich and then i leaned it out by 1/8 turns and finally i prolly turned the high speed nedle a full turn and its really slow. I temped the motor at240 and it was oging like 15-20 MPH and its just really hard to tune.

I need help please.

does anyone know what the factory settings are for the ofna picco .21 motor with an O.s. carb?

Fuel might be bad, or you have an air leak change your fuel tubing check the gas tank for leak's etc... see if your engine for leaks as well.

u have the low end needle almost all the way in and its slow, well is there smoke on the bottom at all? is the idle high? after about 20 ft or so does it kinda puff smoke and start to go a little faster? you are lean bogging richen the bottom up. You are compensating for the lean bottom with and overly rich top

Hey..Is your air filter clean? Just a side note that may help a bit...

I might be able to help tonight at the track...But big blocks don't like my tuning skills...or lack of. Small blocks I'm fine lol.

Mike sounds right and it makes even more sense when you temp it at 240F. lean the top needle 1/4 turn at a time until performance comes back. as performance gets better on top, start richening the low needle in 1/4 increments...it sounds WAY off
