trx 2.5 help - 02-08-2006, 04:59 PM

I have a trx 2.5 engine and whenever I make a high speed pass and then let go and go to let it idle my engine revs up like its at 1/4 speed and then idles.

I richened the low speed, idle, and the high and it is still doing this.
I changed fuel lines and still did it.
any help is appreciated.

also this is the o.s. .18 carb I am using that I bought from snake, so snake if you could please help out.

im wondering if this is a simple tuning problem. because it seemed to work fine at the track.

thanks, traxxas thrasher

well I found out that my carb doesnt want to close on its own, so I put 2 rubberbands on and that closes it but you need to hit the brakes to close it completely.

soooo..... is there something I can do about that?

Try some WD-40 in the carb, I always check mine before I run, I just squirt about a 1 second burst and then i just take your finger and slide it back and forth a little.

Also make sure that the carb is on straight.

well I figured it out...

the boot thats on the carb is too big, so I put the stock t-maxx blue boot on and it opens and closes like a charm.

it seems to work right now when I tested it, so ill test tommorow when I can see the truck.

thanks for the help guys.

Well, if the carb closes all the way with the brakes, but not when sitting at idle, that would tell me that the throttle/brake trim on the radio isn't set right.

The boot does that to both my .18tm (which is the carb you're using now) and hpi.28 too. If you set the trim correctly on the radio, the card will close all the way. You don't need to change the boot.
