As long as its semi accurage (within 5* to 10*) then don't worry about it. Not all engines like to run at the same temp. I'd just start to worry if the temp gun starts reading over 270*F There really isn't a reason to run an engine that hot, it will wear out very quickly.
Temp guns are good when you start off because its a visual indication of what is TOO hot. But as you learn how to listen to a nitro engine you won't need a temp gun as much. I still use a temp gun when I question what i'm hearing from my nitro engine. Little Toys: Hyper One Seven | Inferno GT | Jammin X1cr | Jammin CRT Pro | 1989 Batmobile Replica |

u wont hurt a motor running it over 270 if u tune it right, tuning should be done by smoke sound and power not temps

I almost didn't get my 528xr warranted because they said it had been overheated when it never saw beyond 260* nor was it lean, lean bogging, or making that lovely lean high idle. Little Toys: Hyper One Seven | Inferno GT | Jammin X1cr | Jammin CRT Pro | 1989 Batmobile Replica |

I had one given to me (Thanks George!) and used it until I got a different one. If was fine. I passed it along to Squirrel, so he might have current opinions on it. At RadioShack's price it's a poor value...they sell from Duratrax for around $29. |
