I'm gonna ask this old question again (remember this Tune?)...

Who needs to get a transponder into their race RC? I am willing to middleman a group purchase from AMB for the members here if we can get over 12 buyers.

The purchase price to you should work out to be right at $80, but I will verify it with Amb as it has been a while since I talked to them about this.

So let's start a list and if we can get it going, perhaps we can all be ID'd at the next LHS race!

forgive me if this question seems reallly stupid, but you can use this transponder at any track or only certain tracks? (im new to racing)

any track that has the newer AMB system. I dont know of any track in the area that doesnt have the newer system.

I have them in all my vehicles, makes things so much easier, never have to worry about forgeting to put it in, or someone not returning it. Also all your info is stored with the track, so basically all you have to do is cross the loop and the computer system can register you.

Another neat feature of having your own transponder number is that all of your race data gets uploaded to mylaps.com (if the track owner does it) and you can track all of your data.

$80 is a good deal. I had payed $95 for mine, direct from AMB. Group buys are always good .

I will order these when I get 8 guys (including myself) signed up. The deal is when ordering in multiples of ten. Any extras I will hang onto for our members or move on eBay. So, it's up to the needs of the members as to when these get ordered.
