Okay here are some pics of the stock bike. I have some hop-ups already but won't install any of them until I get the bike reliably running and acclimate to the handling.

Here's a couple of pics of my Savage 4.6SS (New Murdered Hummer shell completed today!) and the rest of the MACMOTO R/C Family:

Soakone, I'd make tires my first upgrade, the stock ones on mine sucked!

I got some GRP Softs and rims on the way from 2Wheelhobbies.com and I also found a sale on PMT EXTRA Softs (buy one get one half off) at FGsupply.com that I ordered the other day.

I like the looks of the GRP's more but I'm told that the PMT's hook up way better.

Hey Guys:
The bike is fixed after it's last run at LeisureHoursRaceway. The damage was mininal. Moved the Spectrum onto the bike. The little buggy is getting the AM radio back.
Hope to try to arrange some of us "Bike" runners for some practice time at the Racetrack. Busy for the next 2 weeks, sorry. Going on a Flat4 Tour Motorcycle ride again that covers 4 states in 2 days. It's only 800 miles.
Golf outing the next weekend.

Finally got some video of my bike in action. I have got it driving pretty well. I decided to run it after I got done testing my MCD rally car & making my first few laps with it. I added a video of it on here as well. If it weren't 2 1/2 hours over to LH I would definitely come out. With our race schedule in Ingalls In. every other weekend, makes it even harder. My family thinks I need to be home at least sometimes on weekends

I have had some time to work on my bike recently and here's some of the upgrades that I have installed on so far:

Aluminum Oil-filled Steering Damper
GRP Soft Treaded Tires
Thunder Tiger - All Black Aluminum Wheels
Integy Revo Shock
Blue Neon Under/Inner Glow Kit
Polished Stock Swingarm

I polished the swingarm to a near mirror finish (using a dremel, sandpaper and polishing compound and about 2 days of work off and on)

That looks Sweet ! I never considered lighting on a bike ? Gives me some ideas for sure. I took a few of my bike & MCD rally car together. The true 1/5 scale shows when put together. I need more hours in my days, because I have a bunch of playing to do yet, and our outdoor time is getting limited.

I got the idea from some mags I read: 2 Wheel Tuner and Super Street Bike and various other bike shows and events I've attended. Came across some neon in the hobby shop one day and my mind immediately went there

That's a sweet mitsubishi you got there! Who makes your bike stand?

The stand is a custom made thing from over seas. The original owner had it made for this bike. It looks cool, but at the expense of drilling the swingarm.

Is that the optional single side swing are from Thunder Tiger or a CNR version?

Too bad their now defunct, there was a set of wheels they made that I saw that were very very realistic. Hopefully with that Venom bike on the way we'll see more bike hop-ups from manufactures.

I picked up the nitro ducatti this past weekend, now I have one of each I'm going to swap the hopups off of the electric (front forks, single swingarm?, brakes, tires/rims) over to the nitro..

does anyone know if a .18 engine will bolt in or are the mounts different than stock? (hey, I've got spares, lol)

Soakone, I guess while I have mine tore down, I'm going to have to polish some parts, may have to send the chassis to my powdercoat dude...

I may hang the lights off of my heli into the body when I'm done, they are the three strand kind, would look kinda cool...

oh yeah.... how the hell do you fuel the thing? the bottle I have is gonna make a mess!! I'm thinking an eye dropper? lol....

TT Nitro - 12-01-2008, 01:11 PM

Stratcat:
I know we've talked about it, but I'll post up what I know.

The TT Ducati is built really tight around the motor. On RCGoups.com they state that the .18 motor from ThunderTiger will fit. You will have to trim a few cooling fins to keep away from the steering servo. The roto-start will fit directly from the .12. I was going to pick-up a .18 over the winter, but have decided not to until the .12 dies.

See you when the snow melts. Hope to work on the bike a little more over the winter.

hey Gerald, I think I'm going to yank my engine out this week and send it up to pro-pinch... the dude seemed pretty straight up, he's got good reviews on the forum, I'm figuring why hassle with modifications when I may be able to freshen up the engien.... what do you think?

Those bikes look totally dialed!

You would probably get more performance out of more of a tuned .12 then a RTR style .18 I bet the OS 12 TR would be a sick motor in one of those

Mike, that's what I'm thinking, I can probably get as much out of that .12 with no serious mods as I can with a stock .18....

here's a pic of the new bike (along with the project pile - the electric bike is going brushless with lipo's, the biplane needs electronics and there are three heli's that need worked on)

I'm almost thinking the comparison between a 2 stroke 250cc dirt bike and a 2 stroke 500cc dirt bike, the 250 will have more balls, which is what I think i want..

Hey stratcat:
One thing not to forget is the Ducati is set-up with a side exhaust engine. Finding a real "screamer" .12 most likely will not be a side exhaust. They are really hard to find. Putting that power down and having the bike not pull wheelies and back-flips out of every corner. You will have to come up with a custom exhaust for the bike otherwise. I just wanted to fit the Thunder Tiger .18 in the bike for a slightly larger motor with a little more umph. Did some searching and came up with this engine--
Thunder Tiger Evo-12
From what I hear from others, this is a good upgrade to keep the original exhaust header. This engine is nearly impossible to find. Found it searching for over a year. I ran my Inferno GT at this track in Tampa, FL and searched his site for engines. May order one for me ASAP.
I really love the rear exhaust pipe on the Ducati, even though it spits Nitro all over you. See you when the snow melts at LHR.

Jerry

What's up guys! Long time.

I finally got my customer brakes from Pat's Australia. Actually had them a few months now. Ran into an issue as they require the stock rims to work on the front. I had already glued my GRP's to the new rims I purchased and while I was able to get the front off with some Acetone, the rear was glued more heavily.

Any ideas on how to de-bond CA without damaging the tires and rims?

Other than that I'm just waiting on my Suzuki GSXR faring (by Nitro Nev Racing Products) to arrive from Fromby Models.

put the tires and rims in a bucket on top of a brick, fill the bucket with acetone enough to cover about 3/4th of the brick, seal the bucket and come check back in a day or two. The tires will pretty much fall off

^ This won't damage the paint on the aluminum rims? Not that I have a use for them now but just wondering.

the os18 CVR is a side exhaust screamer.....I had one in a t-maxx and it moved that 10lb beast around like it was 2 pounds.

Actually it may be too much for a bike...

It may pull some of the paint off, Ive never done it with painted rims. I just know that it will debond the glue lol

a .12 CVR used to be the choice for gas trucks and alot of sedans back in the day, it is side exhaust as well; I still have one in my super nitro shelf queen. I think OS has another .12 side exhaust out, a TG maybe?
