TXT-1 truck - 09-24-2008, 11:25 PM

Is anyone crawling or trail blazing or bashing with a TXT-1. I'm about to make a trade for my Tmaxx 3.3 for that truck and just wanted some quick input on it. So far i'm sold on it but just need some reassurance because i'm not much into custom fabricating a lot of stuff but i'm interested in doing a little crawling but more of a trail type truck with a little more speed than a crawler. Any opinions are welcome whether positive or negative!

I found a Traxxas EVX-2 esc with stock E Revo Titan Monster motors for $80. Is this a good setup for my truck? WIll it give me enough speed and power to do some trail blazing/small jumps and some non comp crawling? I plan on using Lipo batteries with it but I would need advise on which battery to use. If I start to like crawling more I can always change the motor out and i'm getting a gr with the truck. Any opinions are welcomed whether they are good or bad!

Should run decent with that and you may want to look at a pack like we talked about today or ask bubbaracing which pack it is that his Slash is running. Right now it sounds more like a Monster Truck type feel is what you're going for at the moment. I've kinda looked at some of the big scale New Bright and Fastlane toy rc's for shells on my Wheely King since they'd look more scale and those should be pretty close for that truck too once you get the wheelbase set for that body.

The lipo in my Slash is a 4000mAh 2cell lipo from TrueRC, they have some great lipo's for almost half the price of the big name guy's! And they're local in the suburbs of Chitown! Welcome to TrueRC

Well I ended up going with a used TXT 1 that is basically bone stock but has a gr with it for crawling. I am looking for more of a trail truck then a comp crawler but I want the truck to be able to do some crawling. I also found a Traxxas Velineon system on ebay for $100 that I might buy but once again i'm not sure if that's going to give me 60% low end crawling/trail power and 40% top end speed that i'm looking for. If you are interested here's the link:

I read that section daily looking for ideas. My whole problem is that I don't have the truck in front of me just yet so I can't always figure out what they are talking about. Also, the few threads i've started get no responses so it's a little disheartening. Not that i'm going to give up just yet! Also, since i'm new to the crawling and electric side of rc some of it goes right over my head. Thanks to BJoe I at least have a great person to turn to for a point of reference or advise! Thanks Joe!

Just remembered something with the E-Revo electronics, one of the motors is designed to run in reverse since it is mounted backwords on the trans. If you want to go that route, look for the E-Maxx motors/esc combo.
