Jeep Rubicon scale truck -

Just starting another scale build. I was at a Walmart browsing around when I saw this for $20 so I figured what the heck I've always wanted a scaler with a open roof. A buddy of mine in MN has one of those early Tamiya YJ lids on his scaler and I've been looking for something similar to drive along side him when I'm bashing that far north. I figured this jeep would fit the build. This is going to be a more simple type rig to better take the abuse. 4 link style suspension should yield better crawlability then my past leaf sprung trucks.
Here she is box stock.  Fancy interior  Here it is with the junk removed, already looks way more scale.  The Black paint marker came out. Before  After  Before (note the ground effect piece)  After  I'm going to paint the flares to but I'll use the spray cans for that. Here is the preview pic.

going to look great Im sure!!!! I have been considering picking 1 up but just cant do the true scale thing yet.
Nylint stopped be sold at walmart a couple years ago, only place you can find them is ebay. For the money you will spend to get one going good and keep it going, just buy a WK and convert it.

Uhh Naperville dude.. That hobbytown is closer to you than leisure hours raceway is to you... way closer.
Jeep looks good  Don't forget to bust out the silver sharpie and get the door hinges and other things that are shiny lol

Well seeing how many people have this Jeep on other forums. The simple chassis idea went out the window.
 Decided to build the chassis to 1:1 specs with a long arm kit. Here it is in the starting phases.  Sort of close eh?  I need to trim that lip off the back of the Jeep and bend the frame so it sits right.  The bends look like a lot of fun (yeah right). Not sure if I'll bend them all.  I have a 10 minute video of how I made the chassis bending and cutting. I'll upload it if there is interest.  Here is a updated preview pic. That r/c forklift and jack sure comes in handy.
