This is about 120 miles from Chicago....are you guys planning on having any organized racing?

I would consider the purchase of a large scale car but some organized racing at a club level would be required.

Yes, Organized racing with AMB timing will be going in the spring. This is an initial meeting to see how the tracks work with more cars on them. This is a link to a horrible quality video I took of a practice lap on the track layout. It's big and allows for some serious speeds. The Oval track is at my house, & we might have a go at it as well on Saturday. It's ruthless fast & allows a ton of side by side action.

For right now we are off-road only here. We have a serious like for on-road too. The Thursday of I-Hobby, we went straight from the show to Leisure Hours. It was a riot is about all I can say. These dudes are not made for running on that tight of a track. Although I must say tight was not near as bad as the Jumps !!! WOW. I toasted a new body bad enough & finally broke a small suspension joint & gave up. Brian from BigSquid was there shooting video. I know he has some great stuff !! I seen one crash from his camera, " Not of me " and its a good one !! We plan to have some on-road time there if we can get some organization in on-road especially 4 wheel drive. We want to get ROAR to make a provision for this class to run. A National even at Leisure Hours looks to be possible to us ! Very nice facility all around !!

The biggest group of people coming are from the Chicago area anyway. They are like 7 strong & we have about 6 here. 13 big scale vehicles & couple of tracks, will make for good times ! I plan on running video quite a bit

Why is it, that even in the "Bashers Forum", the FIRST question is about organized racing?????

To be honest I think, what is sometimes being asked. Is if there is a group of people actively using the vehicles. Even in a basher deal, groups that have semi-organized deals are fun for certain people. I can run myself on my track & have a blast. I have enjoyed the hobby for many years, pretty much alone, with very few others coming to run with me. Only the last 5 years or so has things really changed around here. I like to race,& I also like to have fun. I know people who enjoy either side more than the other though as well. It's all in what you like most I guess ?

And the guy is drumming up interst by letting guys "race' around his shit.... You are taking the bash/race thing toooooo serious. he probally wants everyone going in one general direction to minimize the head on full speed collisons.

Btw... You cub comments fall on deaf ears.

With the big scale vehicles, we definitely try to have at least minimal organization at least. Head-on collisions are a definite No Way. Unless you have tons of money to fix yours & someone elses stuff. Sent an order out today to a guy that let a buddy drive his & hit a mailbox post. To repair his was almost 600$. We notice most of the bigger scale guys are older & respect their stuff, and definitely others.
Sorry your working man .....

Why is it a "race" guy is even bothering to defile himself by reading the "bashers" forum. Tool.

Okay, if any racers post in the bashers thread they will be BANNED for LIFE!!!!
J/K! LOL Who gives a crap! These are toys after all. I welcome input from anyone who offers it when I need help.

Anyway, I watched a few vids of the MCD baja 1000 and that thing looks SICK! Other tha upgrade costs there really isn't alot of difference in price I would think when you consider the maintenence costs of nitro. But I saw the price of some of th hop ups. OUCH! Good luck guys hope you do well in supporting a growing segment in this hobby.
