No more 20% nitro...hello 30%! - 04-08-2005, 08:13 PM

I picked up some o'donnells 30% from al's yesterday, so today I decided to run out the remaining 20% that I had so it doesn't go to waste . After three tanks of test and tune I had it dialed down. The truck was running awesome. Best it has in a long time!!

Well, the 20% ran out, so I cracked out the new 30% bottle . With a real good tune on 20%, swithing to the 30% made it rich on the low end and high end. Is it normal to a truck with equals settings to run richer with the higher nitro content? First I started leaning out the HSN a little at a time until I liked it. The truck is straight flying now and it's only reading 220 on my temp gauge. Cool! After a few high speed passes that left me with a smile, ear to ear, I started fooling around with the LSN. The truck would load up fairly fast, a little too fast for my taste, so I started leaning that out as well.

When all was said and done, I say to hell with 20%! The truck is idling great, accelerates harder at every rpm than before and the engine doesn't skip a beat.

Time to terrorize at the dirt dawg race tommorrow!

My Blog <-- Could this be the new Chitown R/C color scheme? You decide!
