Like TEX said you are going to have to travel a little out of the way.
If your in Belvidere the closest hobby shop is Hobbytown of Rockford. 20 minutes west of Genoa Road off of I-90. These guys are the best in the Hobbytown business IMO. There is also a Hobbytown in Crystal Lake. If your in Elgin the closest is Hobbytown St. Charles.
What is it you are looking for? Hobbytown may not have it anyways.
