K & N air filters for R/C vehicles - 10-10-2005, 09:51 PM

I had heard that you should not use K&N filters for R/C because they are not meant to filter fine particles that can harm an R/C motor. They work great for 1:1 cars that do not need such fine filtration. I don't know if anyone uses them but this is something you should consider.

Came accross this on Savagecentral.com:

"K&N does not make filters specifically for R/C applications. It is our crankcase vent filters that are most commonly used on these applications. To find a filter for your model, you will need to provide the flange style and size you need. You can find all of our crankcase filters by size at <http://www.knfilters.com/vent.htm>.

If you are looking for a complete intake kit for an R/C vehicle, you will need to go to an R/C Hobby store that makes or supplies such kits with the K&N filter on it.

Thank you,

Based on this info, I would stick with the Motorsaver brand.
